Abstract

Videoendoscopic technologies have been widely implemented in surgical practice worldwide, helping to reduce post-operative rehabilitation times. Currently, there is an expansion in the range and number of procedures performed in day hospital settings. This is achieved through the use of technologies designed to reduce post-operative pain. One of such technologies is the use of the so-called transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block, which is the introduction of a long-acting local anesthetic into the transversus plane of the abdomen. An analysis of the use of the TAP block as a multimodal analgesia during laparoscopic interventions performed in a day hospital has been presented in the article. In this study, patients were divided into 2 groups of 20 people: with and without the use of the TAP block. This analysis showed the effectiveness of this technique, low intensity of pain syndrome, and rapid rehabilitation.
