Secondary rhinoplasty using auricular autograft: a clinical review

Secondary rhinoplasty is a complex reconstructive procedure aimed at correcting both aesthetic and functional deformities that may occur following primary rhinoseptoplasty. One of the effective solutions in cases of septal cartilage deficiency is the use of auricular autologous cartilage. This study reviews the indications, technical features, potential complications, and preventive strategies associated with the application of this type of autograft. Auricular cartilage demonstrates anatomical compatibility, favorable elasticity, and high graft viability, making it a reliable material for reshaping the nasal tip and alar structures. The presented clinical experience confirms the safety and effectiveness of the technique, provided that individual planning and adherence to surgical technique are followed.
